I hope I get as good at maths as he is :-) What you need to do first is make the 3.125 a whole number. 0.125 x 8 is 1.0 That is the multiplying factor ,so then you multiply 3.125 by 8 which equals 25 Therefore the two whole numbers are 25 divided by 8 which equals 3.125!
